James has focused his career on insurance defence and has over 20 years' experience in the insurance industry.
Currently, he is counsel for numerous major insurance companies. The core of James' practice is property damage, arson, fraud, commercial general liability, product liability, environmental, personal injury, motor vehicle, occupiers' liability, subrogation, errors and omissions, boiler and machinery, and jewellers' block. He also has considerable experience advising primary insurance companies, in addition to excess and reinsurers, on insurance coverage issues and disputes.
James acts in both defence and subrogation issues for a large roster of corporate clientele with self-retained exposures. He also represents and advises insurance adjusters, independent adjusters, and their governing associations.

Cynthia Verconich
As a Sr. Associate, Cynthia's practice focuses exclusively on insurance defence litigation, including coverage issues, personal injury, motor vehicle, transportation law, product liability and commercial law.
Cynthia was called to the Ontario bar in 2007 after completing her bachelor of laws at the University of Victoria. Cynthia also holds an honours bachelor of arts degree in economics and political science which she received from the University of Kings College and Dalhousie University. Cynthia has completed her professional master of laws at Osgoode Hall Law School specializing in civil litigation and dispute resolution.
Cynthia spent her first three years of practice at a boutique litigation firm in Toronto. She has also practiced in the Ontario Superior Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court.

Sara Pegoraro
Sara joined James Wilson Barristers as an associate after successfully completing her articling placement with the firm. She was called to the bar in 2019. She graduated in Italy with a Master of Laws from Trento University, specializing in International, European and Comparative Law.
In 2018, she received a Master in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School and obtained the Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. During her academic career, she also participated in an exchange program with Jaume I University, in Spain, and took law courses at Ulster University, in Northern Ireland. Prior to moving to Toronto, Sara completed her articling program in Italy with Heussen Law Firm, where she practiced business law and civil litigation. Sara speaks Italian and Spanish.
